Thrilled that the education community is encouraging the #Fit Teacher tag. In a profession where we spend our days worrying about the well-being of others it is easy to forget about ourselves.
Here’s what I’ve done today in an effort to be healthy:
- Purchased a 16 oz. tumbler (fine, I did this yesterday) so I drink enough water
- Brought lunch today (grilled chicken, wild rice, and strawberries)
It doesn’t hurt that I’ve also joined Weight Watchers… seriously! Thanks to grad school and student teaching I gained about 10 lbs last year. Nothing huge (pun intended) but enough to make me buy new pants. Not cool…
I’m down 8 lbs. already and have decided to lose another 4 - 6. Once I’m done I’ll be 118 lbs., a weight I haven’t been since my summers working at an overnight sleep-away camp. Booyah! Also, I’m getting married in three months - I will look ridiculously good looking.
